We would love to be able to add more cantors to our music ministry at Our Lady of Lourdes! Cantors serve an important role by proclaiming the Responsorial Psalm and Gospel, chanting the proper Introit and Communio, and singing the remaining parts of the Mass with the gathered assembly. Please contact Nicole Millner, Director of Sacred Liturgy & Music (nicole@lourdesmpls.org) if you would like to learn more!

Sadly, due to family reasons, Carol Burns will be leaving her position as Managing Director of Parish Ministries on September 22. We will miss her and her wonderful sense of humor, but we wish her the best as she reunites with her family and friends in Florida. We have posted for the position on the Archdiocesan site as well as our new "Careers" page on our website. While Carol will be hard to replace, she is committed to a smooth transition with whomever assumes her role. Please keep Carol and our parish in your prayers in this time of transition.

When she died, the only thing I wanted was the table she sat beside every night to read the Bible ... [click to read more]
After the joy and splendor of the fifty-day celebration of Easter, we enter what the modern Church calendar labels as “Ordinary Time.” While the word “ordinary” may evoke more of a hum-drum, uneventful quality for us today, this is simply the Church describing that we are in ordered/ordinal, or numbered time (hence, the 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time) ... From Deacon Riordan: It has been a privilege to witness your Catholic Christian lives during my time with you. I will miss the opportunity to serve with Fr. John Bauer who is an excellent pastor and leader with a great sense of humor. You are in good hands with Father Bauer, a fine priest. (click to read more)
Today is my final day as your pastor and my heart is filled with gratitude for these very rich and full ten years at Our Lady of Lourdes. This time spent with you on our journey of faith and with our gracious God has been a gift I will not soon forget. I had the opportunity today to pray in our beautiful church and to thank God for our community of faith and for our historic church in which was have together worshipped the living God. As I depart, I would like to call your attention briefly to a number of important items ...
At the same time, the last ten years have also marked a period where the Lourdes community has done extensive outreach to those on the margins - supporting important ministries and partnerships, including the Tijuana mission, Abria, and John Paul II Catholic School. I thank all of those who have been a part of this outreach …

An ambry is a cabinet that houses the Sacred Oils that are used in several of the Sacraments. These oils are traditionally blessed by the local Bishop during the Chrism Mass. Our new ambry was designed by local iconographer N. Markell and was blessed by Fr. Griffith on Holy Thursday. A beautiful addition to our collection of sacred art at Lourdes!
