Obituary:
James Dabe
Age 61 of Blaine passed away on December 4, 2020. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Margaret and siblings Sue and Corky. He’s survived by his sister Roxy (Jerry) Bannerman along with many nieces and nephews. Although Jim traveled for work and held many addresses through the years, He was a “Rice Streeter” at heart having grown up there and attended St. Bernard’s school. After graduating from St. Paul T.V.I. as an electrical designer, he went on to work for Parsons, Hunt and Cupertino Electric Companies. He was an avid bowler, golfer and Twins fan and a collector of fine red wine and Crown Royal whiskey. Jim was a generous soul who always set the table with the finest of life’s indulgences and lived life to the fullest. Jim was the original pot stirrer, a supporter of friends; especially when they needed him most, master of humor and an innovator of nicknames for all those he came in contact with. Most of all, he was a man of strong Catholic Faith, he attended Mass faithfully and never received the Body with an impure heart. He tithed with consistency and volunteered his talents whenever he could. The world is a better place because Jim was in it. He will be missed by family and countless colleagues and friends. There will be a celebration of life at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Association, 1800 Edgerton St., Maplewood, MN in the chapel on April 30th from 5PM – 8PM. A funeral Mass will follow on May 1st at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1 Lourdes Place, Minneapolis MN 55414 with a reception at Jax Café, 1928 University Avenue – Minneapolis, to follow. Seating at Mass will be limited. Please refer to the parish web-site: www.lourdesmpls.org
