Do you enjoy singing but don’t quite have the confidence to sing out as much as you’d like? Have you thought about joining the choir, but worry about not being able to read music?
Join us for a 4-part series to learn some basics about music and singing! Whether you have no idea how to read music and want to learn, or if you just want to "tune up" your skills for choir or cantoring, all are welcome!
Starting August 23rd, we will meet on Wednesday nights (7:00-8:00pm). The series is open to anyone from the parish and we will learn and practice skills in sight-singing and reading music. We will be meeting up in the choir loft; the church can be accessed by the front doors or the elevator door.
A few of the skills we will cover will be:
Reading notes on the staff
Intervals/distances between notes and how to hear and sing the
Rhythm and counting
Musical terms and markings
Please contact Nicole Millner([email protected]g) if you have questions, would like to take part, or have specific things you would like to learn!
