A Communion of Life and Love
The marriage covenant, by which a man and a woman form with each other an intimate communion of life and love...is by its very nature ordered to the good of the couple, as well as to the generation and education of children. CCC 16
Requirements
- One party of the couple must be Catholic and registered in the parish for at least 6 months before establishing a wedding date to be considered a parishioner.
- Non parishioners are welcome to have their wedding here but one party of the couple must be Catholic. (Additional fee for non parishioners).
- Both parties need to be free to marry in the Catholic Church
- Submit the Marriage Registration Form.
Marriage Preparation Mornings
- Marriage Preparation Mornings are scheduled about three times per year.
- You should plan accordingly to have participated in a Marriage Preparation Morning no less than 6 months before your wedding date.
- The next Marriage Preparation Mornings are scheduled for Saturday, January 25, 2025.
- Future sessions are tentatively Saturday, May 3, 2025 and Saturday, September, 6, 2025

Marriage Process
- The Sacrament of Marriage process must begin at least six months in advance of the proposed wedding date.
- Contact the parish office with regards to confirming a date and scheduling an initial meeting to go over parish guidelines.
- Once the couple is accepted to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage at Our Lady of Lourdes, the couple must:
- Participate in a Diocesan approved Pre-Nuptial retreat. Participation and retreat fee is the responsibility of the couple.
- Complete a Pre-marital inventory and follow-up mentoring.
- Participate in Our Lady of Lourdes Marriage Morning (held three times each year). Marriage Mornings currently scheduled: Saturday, January 25, 2025.
- Submit all required documents and testimonies at least two months before the planned wedding date.
- Select music with the Director of Sacred Liturgy & Music.
- Meet with your Priest or Deacon to review final plans for the ceremony. (Note: Priests or Deacons who are relatives or friends of the couple may witness the Sacrament with the permission of the Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.)
- Apply for a civil marriage license within six months of your wedding. Licenses are valid for six months.
- Weddings are typically scheduled for Friday no later than 4:00 pm or Saturday afternoons no later than 2:00 pm. Other days and times can be discussed at the initial meeting.
Fees
- Wedding Ceremony
- $1200 for parishioners registered six months prior to the initial wedding inquiry
- $600 is required to reserve a wedding date
- $2500 for non-parishioners; the couple must provide a priest or deacon in good standing with the Catholic Church to preside at the wedding.
- $1250 is required to reserve the wedding date.
- $400 for couples who are celebrating their wedding in another church and who need marriage preparation only.
- Professional musician fees are in addition to the fees above. Contact the, Director of Sacred Liturgy & Music for more information.

Church Facilities
Our Lady of Lourdes Church comfortably seats approximately 200 guests. There are two basement halls that seat a total of 144 people: 96 people in the Great Hall and 48 people in the Small Hall. There is a bridal room for the bride and the bridesmaids to use for dressing purposes. The bridal party may make use of the facilities two hours prior to their wedding.
Parking
Parking for guests is available at the River Place Municipal Parking Ramp adjacent to the
Church. The address is 30 2nd St. NE, Minneapolis, MN. Parking vouchers for the ramp can be purchased through SP+Parking.
