Christian stewardship is about what God wants for you in all phases of our life and includes our legacy with plans for our worldly goods and resources after our death. For many, planned giving creates an optimal way to exercise the stewardship of the gifts entrusted to us. A few examples of how you can exercise your stewardship through planned giving include: cash gifts to an endowment, establishing a charitable remainder trust, leaving a gift through a will, or creating a gift annuity. Depending on how they are structured, these types of gifts can also offer tax benefits and maintain flexibility should your circumstances change.
Estate and Planned Giving
A bequest is a gift made by naming the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in your will or living trust as part of your estate. An estate gift of any size is one of the most flexible ways that you can support our parish, because almost anything you own can be gifted. Estate gifts come in many forms and are completely controlled by you. When making a bequest, you can give a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or even specific non-cash assets.
If you have already included Our Lady of Lourdes in your estate plans, please let us know by contacting Mary Asp in the parish office ([email protected]). Sharing your plans does not bind you or your estate but allows us to plan and work with you to honor intentions of your gift.
Legacy Giving
Our ministry and liturgy, including youth programs, our choir, and community outreach, flourish with predictable and secure funding. The importance of dedicated funds also extends to the beautiful church building we inherited from the founders of our parish. An example of this type of impactful gift is enjoyed by us every Sunday – the Ralph Strangis Memorial Pipe Organ was generously funded by parishioner Grace Strangis in memory of her beloved husband, a long-time parishioner and parish trustee.
Please contact Mary Asp in the parish office ([email protected]) if you have an idea or would like to learn about ways to support a specific program.
Ask for help! Your financial advisor or attorney can be great resources for more information on these and many other options that are available to you. We have also partnered with organizations that can help with drafting your will and planned giving, so please do not hesitate to reach out to Mary Asp in the parish office ([email protected]).
